When I was 7 years old, my Grandpa let me in on his annual tradition of surprising my Grandma with a May Day basket.
We’d sneak up the front steps like ninjas, hang our homemade paper basket of wild flowers on the door handle, ring the doorbell and run like our lives depended on it!
It quickly became one of my favorite days of the year.
May Day (May 1st) is a great excuse to celebrate life with your family.
Even if you’ve never celebrated May Day before, there’s no time like the present to start a new family tradition.

1. Ring the Doorbell and Run
Roll a piece of paper into a cone shape and secure it with tape. Cut a thin strip of paper to be the handle and tape it across the top.
Then let your kids fill it with real or fake flowers (even dandelions will do) and leave it for a neighbor or friend to discover.
