Lauren relied on information from mom bloggers throughout her entire pregnancy, as a new mom & still even now!
She learned a lot from reading those mom blogs, but she also figured out some tricks/hacks that she didn’t find on her Google searches.
So in 2018 she decided to start a blog to help other pregnant and new moms figure things out.
We asked Lauren to share her favorite:
- Blog course
- Book about blogging
- Affiliate programs
- Blog tips for beginners

Favorite Book About Blogging Or Business
Go for No is one of my favorite books.
It’s not blogging related, it’s actually more network marketing, but the concept that if you stop asking before you get a no, then you don’t know how many yes’s you missed out on.
I think this concept can be applied to blogging and many other areas of life.
Best Blog Course
I haven’t taken any formal courses yet because I haven’t committed to spending the money.
Your content that is Twitter focused has been the most helpful as well as the free 10K traffic challenge that Heather and Pete Reese do every month.
Favorite Affiliate Programs
Amazon!
I can’t be the only mom that wishes to be a Pinterest mom but is actually an Amazon Prime kind of mom.
Best Thing About Blogging
I really love all aspects of putting together and maintaining my blog as well as writing content.
I love the creative side of designing opt-ins and social media images as well as writing content designed to help other moms.
I even like figuring out ways to optimize my website.
Most Frustration Thing About Blogging
The slow growth of blog traffic is the most frustrating part for me.
I’m not great at being patient, so the amount of time it takes to see any benefits from my SEO effort is tough.
Blog Stats
Number of Email Subscribers: 135
Average Monthly Page views: 5700
Average Monthly Unique Visitors: 2300
Blog Income
Desired Average Monthly Income: $2500
Favorite income stream: Right now almost all of my income is from a couple social media campaigns through Activate, so I guess that would be my favorite.
What do you like about it? I like the simplicity of applying for campaigns and the range of campaign topics. I also like the creativity that comes with doing an Instagram campaign and the ease of the Twitter campaigns.
Current income breakdown: 90% from sponsored posts, 10% from affiliates
Blog Goals
One big goal for the next 6 months: To get my monthly blog traffic to 10K.
Where do you see yourself 1 year from now:
- In one year I will be making approximately $1,000/month from my blog.
- I will have multiple streams of income including sponsored posts, an e-download product, and social media posting.
- I will also have a loyal social media following with more than 10K Instagram and Twitter followers and more than 1K FB page followers.
- My email list subscribers will have reached 1K.
What would your life & blog look like in 3 years for you to feel successful?
I never started my blog with the intent of replacing my full time career.
However, in three years my blog would need to be making approximately $2,500/month through sponsored posts, sponsored social media posts and products for me to determine it a success.
Biggest Win From Your Blog So Far
My first affiliate income which I got from a diaper campaign.
Best Blog Tips For Beginners
It’s not just writing content.
Make sure that you are ready to take on learning website design, SEO and social media.
