Every mom knows the supermarket can be a treacherous place with kids.
From begging to meltdowns, we’ve ALL been there.
Next time, try playing this little game when grocery shopping with your kids.
While you’re going through the aisles with them, ask them to be on the lookout for these tags on shelves.
Every time they spot the tag, praise their efforts & explain what the label means (AKA: DISTRACT them while you keep shopping!).
Safeway has partnered with other participating brands to run a fantastic campaign this month supporting Hunger Is.
In kid language, whenever they spot the labels, they’re finding ways to help feed hungry kids!
Tell them lots of kids (1 out of 5 in the USA!) don’t have enough food & many kids go to school hungry.
Ask them if they think it would be easy or hard to learn while being hungry all morning.
Encourage them to keep looking out for those tag, so they can help fill up other kids’ tummies too.
There are two ways you can help:
- Add your donation during checkout.
- Buy products with the HUNGER IS tag.
For every Hunger Is item purchased this month, $.10 goes back to the local market, up to $1M nationally!
The money will specifically go toward expanding the breakfast program for kids who need it the most.
There are lots of participating brands to choose from – below are just a few.
Teaching your kids to think of others…
Giving back to your local community…
All while picking up groceries.
Great work, moms!
Here you can learn more about Safeway’s plan to improve breakfast. Thank you Safeway!
